Zamfara’s Lawal Tours Mining Sites With Promise to Boost Revenue Generation
Zamfara State Governor Dauda Lawal has assured of increased revenue accruing to the state following the significant improvement in security across the state.
He said this penultimate Wednesday when he inspected mining sites and solid minerals processing factories in the Anka and Maru Local Government Areas.
The on-site tour begun with a visit to Comet Star Industry, a private mining company located in the Anka Local Government Area owned by Prince James Uduji OON, processing various solid minerals of approximately 1,000 tons daily, noting the capacity of private companies to partner with the government to develop the state.
Governor Lawal expressed satisfaction with the factory’s standard, stating that it is the type of investment the state government is seeking.
He revealed that discussions are ongoing between the federal and the state governments as well as the private sector and host communities to identify solid minerals assets that would improve revenue generation “and rapidly develop Zamfara,” he said.
In Maru LGA, Governor Lawal promised the state government’s full support to artisanal miners, ensuring they operate within legal regulations.
He promised to provide essential tools to the artisanal miners to stop environmental degradation.
