Kebbi State Begins Reconstruction of Koko-Zuru federal Road at a Cost of N64bln Naira

Kebbi State Governor Nasir Idris has awarded the reconstruction of Koko-Zuru federal road at the cost N64 billion Naira and the formal flag off is to be held at Dabai in Zuru local government on Tuesday January 28 2025.

Three companies, according to the state commissioner of Works, Engineer Umar Faruk Abdullahi Muslim are GNIL Nigeria Limited, which will execute its portion of the contract at a cost of N27 billion to cover Koko to Marafa, a distance of 37 kilometers.

Others are Zuru Building and Construction Company, ZBCC that would handle the Marafa to Mahuta, a distance of 25 kilometres at a total cost of N18.6 billion, while Mahuta to Dabai also a distance 25 kilometres will be executed by Habib Engineering at the cost of N18. billion.

The Commissioner warned that the state government will not tolerate abuse of design, specification and quality of work as contained in the contract agreement. 

Engineer Muslim assured the contractors that the state government has set aside the funds required for the roads and will pay for each phase that are satisfactorily completed and certified by  engineers from the state ministry of works.

The roads are an addition to 21 other projects spread across the state and since embarked upon by the administration of Governor Idris since coming into office.

The representatives of the construction firms, Engineer Garba Abdullahi of the ZBCCL and Mr Show of GNIL Nigeria limited assured that the terms and conditions of the contract will be strictly adhered to in order to arrive at high quality execution.
