Nigeria’s Federal Government Provides 3bln Naira to States Ravaged by Flush Floods
The minister of finance Wale Edun has announced that all the 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory Abuja are to receive from the Federal Government N3 billion each to mitigate flooding which had ravaged farmlands and destroyed crops.
He was speaking when he visited flood ravaged areas of Kebbi State aimed at ascertaining first hand, the magnitude of the flood disaster and condole with the people of the state over their personal and financial loses.
Receiving the minister, who was accompanied by the minister of budget and economic planning, Senator Abubakar Atiku Bagudu, Governor Nasir Idris conducted them round the affected areas in Argungu and Birnin Kebbi local government areas.
They also visited the WACOT Rice Mill in Argungu.
Wale Edun expressed his appreciation with the mega tonnage rice mill which he observed has been supporting and encouraging women secondary rice millers for economic growth.
