Anambra Understudies Kaduna On. Mining And Environment Issues

The Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources has received the Anambra State delegation of the Ministry of petroleum, Homeland Affairs and security .
The delegation which was led by the Commissioner of the Ministry Mr. Anthony Ikechukwi, he stated that the choice of kaduna as the destination for the visit, is not unconnected with the vast experience and the track record kaduna has in mining sector.He said areas like Legal and regulatory frame work, how to acquire license,tender on mines and solid mineral resources could be learnt.
In his remarks during the recent visit, the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources, Mal.Abubakar Abba Umar welcomed them to the Ministry for the journey all the way from Anambra State. Abba also assured them of the Ministry ‘s readiness to assist in what ever capacity they could.
He said to them that visiting kaduna State is like visiting the 19 Northern states of the federation, going by its status in the region. He also extended the Commissioner ‘s commitment to henceforth build a strong relationship with Anambra State Government.
While the Director Mineral resources, Mr.Caleb Guruza took them to Institutional memory on how the department came into being, Strategy of developing the sector, introduction of KMDC, domestication of Mining Act, Sector Implementation Plan Etc.The M.D. KMDC, Dr Nuraddeen also took time to explain to them how to grow in the business by adopting a Public Private Partnership (PPP), working closely with Artisanal Miners and Article of association and Memorandum of understanding as the working documents.
He also revealed that more than 10 joint venture companies have so far engaged with the state,thus has the largest private integrated plan.
